All around the world Virgin Islanders are flying the flag of the territory high. One such individual, Ms Keyana K. N Browne, is no different. She is an entrepreneur as well as a Certified Medical Assistant, in addition to being the Founder and CEO of an apparel company called 'Baby Royal Eminence'.

Woman of Many Hats

Currently residing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but born and raised in the Virgin Islands, Keyana K.N. Browne works for Psychological Associates and is also a Trainee Supervisor.

A woman of many hats, she said: "The highlight of my days is the feeling I get when I see the little smiles on my patients' faces and gratitude I receive from their parents."

"Even though I only have one child, children are my weakness. Having the opportunity to work at Psychological Associates has brought me an awareness that the majority of young children suffer from depression, anxiety, bullying and suffering silently with mental traumas," she revealed to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO).

"I genuinely believe that I was placed on this earth to help young kids and make a difference."

Speaking from a professional perspective, she said as adults we must remind children that they are enough, "they were born with everything they need to be whole and happy."

She noted that adults must teach them that complimenting another 'Royal' doesn’t tarnish their own 'Crown'. "We can teach them how to be self-sufficient with their own beauty," she said.

Staying Focused

"My son De’Koi Hunte, he is my number one supporter," Ms Browne revealed to VINO.  She said he remains an outspoken, grateful, and respectful young man who deserves the world, "and I’ll continue to work hard for him".

Ms Browne related that running her company, in addition to holding a career,  can be challenging, especially in the area of advertising.

"At times, it's challenging trying to keep up with social media. I have accounts for both the apparels and the Royalty baskets. It's important to also keep in contact and acknowledge all of my Royals and not to miss anyone."

Our Young Professional said the company is taking full advantage of social media via Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram, "so the work and social media engagement is continuous,  around the clock."

In terms of an ultimate business goal, she said, "I see myself owning several “Royalty” storefronts in the United States, starting a non-profit for charity to help give back to communities and children hospitals around the world."

Finding Inspiration

When asked by VINO to name persons who inspire her, she said her mother Frederica Browne and American actor and producer, Tyler Perry.

"My mother has 6 children and worked hard so that all of her children can live comfortably. She’s such a strong woman. Currently, she owns several homes in Virgin Gorda, St.Thomas and Dominica."

According to Ms Browne, Tyler Perry's dedication and hard work has inspired him to do more, "I love the fact that he didn’t let his childhood define his future."

"Don’t limit yourself because of others expectations. They are not you. Pray and write down all of your goals and achieve them one by one. Take your time and small steps! It doesn’t matter how you started it’s the end that will always count," she said.

Parting Advice

"Whatever you want in life shoot for the stars. What’s a limit? Exactly, there is none," our Young Professional said in parting advice.

Working in silence was also underscored as another major aspect of being productive, "As exciting as it might be to share all of your ideas and goals; it's sometimes best to work in silence. Sometimes telling someone who isn’t happy for you can be a block to your blessings."

Our Young Professional charged that no matter what situation you’re in, always find the confidence to push forward.

"Once you have a dream it doesn’t matter. If you believe in yourself go for it! You’ll be great. All you need is your own validation! For we are all royalty and nothing less," she said.

Ms Browne also took the opportunity to thank all her business supporters for the love. "I just want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my Royal heart and I appreciate you!"
