Working in a male dominated profession, our young professional did not let anything deter her from becoming "a part of the guys" while still being a mother. Our young professional for this week is Annecha T. Graham, who hails from the beautiful community of Fat Hogs Bay, Tortola.

Annecha, 22, is a Firefighter with the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services.

Her responsibilities include carrying out rescues, responding to fire calls and special services.

"I enjoy responding to emergency calls," said Ms Graham.

Prior to working at the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services, Ms Graham worked at RiteWay Food Markets located on Flemming Street as a part time cashier.

Our young professional stated that being a Firefighter has always been the job that she desired, while noting that she also sees herself as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

She said, "My co-workers and also my supervisor always give me words of encouragement."

Early Education

Annecha T. Graham is a past student of the Willard Wheatley Primary School and then moved on to the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS).

After completing high school, Ms Graham attended the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) where she pursued a degree in Hotel Management.

Inspiration/Interest

In her spare time, Ms Graham enjoys playing softball, listening to music and spending time with her daughter.

She also stated that her inspiration comes from her mother, Laurel Graham; brother, sister and other friends and family.

Advice to youth

Our young professional advises young persons to pursue their dreams despite all odds.

"Don't ever give up no matter how hard the road may seem. Go hard or go home."
