CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI — The [US] Virgin Islands Police Department says it’s working to get guns off the streets. Have a look of at least one of the weapons officers recovered in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands between Friday June 25 and Saturday June 26, 2016 (in photo).

On Friday — responding to shots fired in the vicinity of Nadir at about 10:02 a.m. — police recovered a sawed-off shotgun, a glock handgun with several extended magazines, ammunition and drugs.

The following day officers responded to shots fired in the Oswald Harris Court area and observed an individual attempting to exit the location, who dropped a folding chair bag and left.

The officers inspected the bag and recovered an AK-47 with 2 magazines. Police, however, were unable to locate the suspect after they recovered the weapon and ammunition, according to the release.

I have been to Walmart before. They do sell guns but not those type. And not every Walmart sell guns. The thing that scare me most was when I was in Louisiana, you see regular men and women walking around with guns strap on their waist. It is legal but you have to have a gun permit.

Ok, but that's nothing compared to what they have here in the BVI. It's so sad what our once loving communities are turning into. Miss the days when you can pass people on the streets and be greeted with a nice "good afternoon" or "good morning"...now when you walk the streets, people walk pass selling cupcakes or peanuts and can't even say hello.

you are correct shark, that is one of the 20 variants of the ak47 called the Chinese AKS it comes chambered in 7.62x39mm, this stamped-steel-receiver AKS has a side-folding Phenolic stock set (inlay). It is one of the rarest of the Chinese guns in the U.S.
