ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Her story of the sacrifice of her parents and the close bond of herself and brother Mr Kareem-Nelson Hull and her youthful challenges caused streams of tears to trickle down the cheeks of Ms Ayana S. Hull, the author of The Pentateuch, which was officially launched yesterday July 9, 2014.

At the Breezeway, Central Administration Complex as the day eased into evening, a gathering of persons joined Ms Hull as she launched her newest book. They were also moved by emotions with genuine tears, as she spoke a bit of the commitment of her parents to the upbringing of herself and brother that has resulted in her being the woman she is today.

The Pentateuch is the first in a series of a collection of books targeting pre-teens and teens, the generation that is being lost according to Hull. It contains 54 stories that break down the Old Testament’s first five books, referred to as the Pentateuch and even though it is a big word she used it deliberately because it opens the vocabulary of targeted persons.

This particular series will contain six volumes in the Old Testament and three from the New Testament. Nine books are expected to come out of the project.

Present to give congratulatory remarks was Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn who made a commitment to having the necessary steps taken to have the book placed in all of the Primary Schools across the Territory, an announcement which was greeted with loud applause from those present.

He also responded to calls for him to make donations of copies to Mentoring Anointed Leaders Everywhere (M.A.L.E) which he said he will do in private as he gets much criticism for his kind gestures when done openly in public.

The author's brother Kareem Nelson Hull said there is a call that is happening all across the Territory. “That call is ‘Who are we? The answer to that call is M.A.L.E.”

“M.A.L.E is like a Pentateuch. The Bible says train up in a child in the way they should go and when they are old they shall not depart from it. That is a call and we have to decide what the response is. M.A.L.E is the Territory’s response to getting our young men in line to where they should be. The Pentateuch is also a response to creating a way to teach our young people,” Kareem Nelson Hull noted.

Giving remarks at the launch of Ms Hull’s newest release was the founder of M.A.L.E Minister Henderson Tittle who said that the people of the Territory have lost their values. “Minister I must say that we have become very rich but very poor because the values somewhere along the line we have lost,” said Minister Tittle.

Further remarks were also given by Director of Outreach Ministry New Life Baptist Church (NLBC) Pastor Walter Barrett who in speaking of the significance of the of the Emancipation and the culture of the Virgin Islands, said that there is a fear that the VI culture would be lost, “When you don’t know where you came from, which is a very important thing to know, then you don’t know where you are going,” said Pastor Barrett.

He complimented Ms Hull’s book as one of the guiding lights that has the potential of guiding youth to knowing who they are and where they are going.

Bishop of the NLBC John I. Cline said that he was very happy to have made a contribution towards the production of the book as he was asked to write the foreword which he gladly did.

Ms Ayana S. Hull’s first book was written for the government of the Virgin Islands titled, “Financial Services demystified – an introduction to the Financial Services Industry in the Virgin Islands.”

At the official launch of her newest book she presented copies to several persons who were integrally involved in assisting her in addition to a number of youths including her children, God-children and her dearest brother.

I hope the author highlited this wonderful passage from the Pentateuch. Sadly if Prosper had survived a day or two then Arthur Hodge would have been afforded Biblical amnesty for his crimes.

When a man strikes his slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If however the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since his slave is his own property. Exodus 21:20-21

    Wake up black man!

How much money Myron is giving her for this book now?

I remember Mrs. Flax book on the BVI and its launch and never got as much support like this one. Seems like if this lady write Georgie Porgie pudding and pie, although it is already released, she will get the credit for it because I read the book and there is nothing in there that is not already out here.

So why all the BIG BANG THEORY Ayana? Copy righted again.

I guess you capitalizing on NDP being in power to bring forward to be paid.

Other writers publish books and they went straight to the library.

This is utter nonsense and only in the BVI.

How does the minister decide what goes on the school shelves? Is this a scheme to continue giving tax payers money to this individual? Something is not adding up.
