ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – “My heart was warmed when recently my son, Mr ‘Bad Boy’, told me, ‘mom I never told you but I took up a course at college and was waiting to graduate before I told you as a surprise but I can’t hold it back anymore I must tell you,” said a parent who for several reasons asked that her name be kept confidential.

“I don’t want my son to face any form of discrimination as he is working for the government and the particular ministry that he works for is very guilty of taking advantage of workers if they speak up,” said the woman.

But she thought that it was necessary to share her bit with Virgin Islands News Online. She said that she felt Honourable Julian Fraser, RA (R3) deserves to be praised publicly. “They called my boy ‘bad boy’ because he did the dogs I can tell you but I am always praying for him; he is my son. But what struck me was when he told me that it was Hon Fraser who sat him down one day and had a heart and soul talk with him that has resulted in him deciding take a stock of his life and make a change,” she added.

“Never mind the noise this body and that body especially in the House of Assembly saying is only now he showing interests in youths because he wants votes but he (Hon Fraser) is doing and has over the years been doing very good for our youths and my son told me so much I couldn’t keep it all to myself because Hon Fraser deserves to know and the public deserves to know that Hon Fraser is and has been working behind the scene a lot with youths of this Territory,” she said.

She said that her family hails from the sister island of Jost Van Dyke but have been around the third district for a number of years. “You see that Honourable Julian Fraser Save the Seed Basketball League is something that is doing good. I see right before my eye man who use to be beefing against one another, hugging and having friendly sparing and that is what those kind of sport does, it causes behaviour change,” said the woman.

“It got certain so called big ones in government who like say they does hang on the block and level with them youths but these two eyes of mine have seen a certain Minister hanging on the block yes but go up close and greet him and he eyes red like fireball and you get a certain smell you know what I am talking about,” she said.

The mother said that her testimony can be supported by those of many other parents across the Territory that Honourable Julian Fraser is genuine with youths. “I see youths under his influence elevating themselves… one I see at a bank, on Cruise Pier project holding big positions, in so many other good jobs too.”

Hon Fraser is no just comer for youths development. I am sueprised more people aint come forward with this kind of praise for this man. I am 28 and I remember hearing Hon Fraser saying publicly that when it comes to education dont hessitate, just go to HLSCC and bring he the bill. I test him and he paid every time. That was when HLSCC charge tuition. Today I got my masters.

@Latima, Andrew Fahie did the same thing to many of us who lived in the first district, even before free tuition. Fahie spent his own money (not government money) and paid for our tuition and for transportation in the night to west end.

VIP has always looked out for the youths of the territory!

How did our country ever arrive at this destination and how will we ever turn things around where sanity and civil discourse prevail?

Those who really know Fraser will tell you the man is an excellent listener, deliberate, and very patient- despite what his enemies want to paint him with- he will be an exceptional premier-

So you have ministers in the VIP who would assist financially, even to the extent of "out of their own pockets"... ,(taxpayers money),give to their chosen few who are supporters of their political party. What is commendable about paying individuuals
in an effort to guarantantee their votes and requiring obligatory rehearsed and coerced public endorsement?
Then you have National Democratiic Party (NDP) a political party comimg into power me giving the right to free education ,with dignity ,for all no matter what political affiliation
    No public humiliation required.
    Iation requiring.

    No matter their political afgiliation

If nothing else, I would like to think that the VIP is the party that can be more circumspect and considerate of someone else's hardship. Besides, I cannot think of a better bumper sticker, than "NDP MUST GO!
