CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI – Residents and visitors of the Virgin Islands will get a firsthand ‘taste’, months ahead, of the 4th Annual BVI Food Fete when the event launch is held on Friday June 9, 2017 at Callwood’s Rum Distillery in Cane Garden Bay.

The launch, which will include a fish fry, will be doe at 5:30 PM.

Kaletha Henry, Public Relations Coordinator of the BVI Tourist Board, explained that the purpose of the BVI Food Fete is to generate more attention and awareness for the tourism product, specifically culinary tourism.

Henry told our newsroom that this is an event held every November, in which there is a culinary series where multiple culinary events take place on Tortola, Jose van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and Anegada.

According to the public relations coordinator, “we are launching in the sense of announcing to the public tomorrow what they can look forward to this November. So by attending you’ll learn information about each event and you’ll hear from each organiser of each event on behalf of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and what people can expect.”

It was noted that a fish fry will be taking place during the launch and a “mixologist” will be preparing some signature drinks. Additionally, there will be entertainment by DJ Dre and the HLSCC Stingrays.

Premier Dr The Hon D. Orlando Smith (AL) or the Junior Minister of Tourism, Hon Archibald C. Christian (AL), may be in attendance to give remarks.

Admission is free.

For more information, persons can call 284-494-3134.
