BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI – Tragedy was averted on April 11, 2013 when a vehicle plummeted over a precipice measuring at least 30 feet to a parking lot below in Baughers Bay.

The vehicle, a grey and blue Mitsubishi Montero SR bearing licence plate PE 299, was reportedly parked on a hill above in the vicinity of 'Bobby Jean’s' when it rolled over the hill sometime around 9 P.M. this evening.

The sports utility vehicle fell in the parking lot of The Terrace Club (formerly Bat Cave) a short distance away from other vehicles parked nearby.

No occupants were reportedly in the vehicle at the time when it fell and no injuries have been reported either.

It is unclear whether a mechanical issue was the cause of the incident.

Police were at the scene taking statements from persons who witnessed the incident as a wrecker was making attempts to bring the vehicle to an upright position before it could be removed.
