ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A Surveyor at the Public Works Department was placed on $20,000 signed bail with one surety at the Magistrate’s Court on October 25, 2013 after being charged with theft.

Winston Harrigan, 42, of Sea Cows Bay, did not offer a plea to the charge of theft of a sticker belonging to another person’s vehicle. He was unrepresented at the time.

According to the allegations read by the prosecutor, the Virtual Complainant (VC) left his vehicle with his brother when the sticker was allegedly stolen.

According to the Police complaint filed, the incident reportedly occurred between March 29 and April 13 of 2013.

The allegations further stated that on May 15, 2013 a black pickup was seized in the vicinity of Pockwood Pond.

The defendant contacted Police and identified the truck as his and the Traffic Department was also contacted.

The sticker on the vehicle was confirmed as belonging to another vehicle. The defendant was then met by Police and informed of the allegations and arrested under suspicion of stealing.

He allegedly told investigators: “Me just wrong, me aint thief it but ah got to deal with what ah got to deal with.”

Harrigan is to return to court on December 13, 2013.

So you think when another party gets in people will become instantly richer? This is crap. The people doing the stealing are just thieves and no one wants to admit it. If the economy was good, they would still be thieves because it is their nature....please! Stop making excuses for a bunch of low lives. Dun!

VIP gave you BUPA so hush your dumb a**. Look in the papers online there are hundreds of jobs. show me one local willing to work and can't find work at all, You can't show me one that's a lie. Things are hard for everyone but we can still get by until it gets better. Government can't fix an economy the only thing they can do is put things in place for investment to come but guess what? ass**** like you call the government sell outs when they invite people in to spend money. The BVI was built on foreign investments, Little Dix, Harneys and other foundation investmnets, that's how it was built and the only way it will continue to grow is with the same mixture. Thank god we didn't have such ass*** and idiots back in the day or else...

You need financial management man. It has jobs but what skills do you possess to get a second job. I bet you are one with the biggest ride and loud set. You have a whole year to pay insurance. Pinch a penny here and there for a year so you would be able to licence your ride.
