ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Studio One is a European styled hair salon/spa centre that boasts a unique Caribbean flavour, according to its owners.

Part owner, Eileen Bourke related that Studio One seeks to offer alternative options to harsh treatments, especially given the local climate.

However, the establishment, which officially opened its doors on January 17, 2014 with much grandeur, promises much more in the realm of quality treatment and caters to both male and female clientele.

Ms. Bourke said people generally want to renew their beauty treatments without having it cost a fortune but they also want it to be healthy for their bodies, and they are a lot more educated than they ever were.

“You’d be surprised, where people from here, when they travel out, the spas they go to… people know. Even clients who do travel abroad complain about the prices here and for the lack of service that you’re being charged for,” Bourke illustrated.

Centrally located on Main Street between Midtown Restaurant and Goodfellas, Ms. Bourke expressed that Studio One seeks to be a completely accessible establishment, “That’s why we’re right in the middle of town… where anybody can walk in, and we’re a mix of people.”

Hair stylist and colourist, Nicoleta Bongarth, who forms part of the management team, comes with over a decade of cosmetology experience and specialises in hair, nails, facials and waxing among other things.

Studio One also offers Swedish and hot stone massages, hydra facials and various hair care treatments among a host of affordable beauty treatments.

Nicole explained that one of the establishment’s best customers is its male clientele, “we have a really good package for the men,” she offered.

The two women, together with, Emery Che Pemberton form a unique enterprise where everyone can reasonably afford to have a not only a nice experience in a good looking atmosphere but also one where persons shouldn’t have to settle for less because of a slight price difference.

The establishment also plans to introduce a number of specials including treats for events such as Valentine’s Day and other special occasions.

There are also plans to further expand the business and in the near future offer a clinic spa that will have laser treatment among its offerings.

This place can't take another salon. Government need to put a stop to the issuance of trade license in this industry. The market is saturated.

Flooded with barber shops and salons with mediocre service. I do my own hair and I have YET to find a salon that I am willing to spend my hard earned money on ... because 1. They seldom know what they are doing and 2. The service is usually horendous. So I don't have a problem with a new salon being opened, with some sophisticated flare... because I am yet to be satisfied with the bvi salon selection.
