STT man nabbed for burglary, unauthorized vehicle use

ST. THOMAS, USVI — Matthew Brafford, age 34 of no fixed address, was arrested on Monday at about 10:45 a.m. and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and third-degree burglary in two separate incidents, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.

Brafford was identified as the person who removed a vehicle without permission from Crown Bay.

In a separate matter, he was also identified in surveillance footage as one of the individuals who removed several tools from a business.

Unable to post bail of $25,000, Brafford was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.

The case was under investigation by the V.I.P.D.'s Criminal Investigation Bureau. The police force is asking anyone with information about these crimes to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211, or reach Crime Stoppers USVI with an anonymous tip here.
