CARROT BAY, Tortola, VI- Cliff Struiken blazed to victory, with hardly a challenge, when the Hauteville 5K Series made a stop in Carrot Bay, Tortola on March 31, 2018.

Struiken, who is tuning up for the Tortola Torture, the 54K ultramarathon scheduled for April 14, 2018, separated himself from the pack from the get go and never looked back, clocking a winning time of 17:45 minutes.

Reuben J. A. Stoby was not up for the challenge and had to settle for second in 19:36, the only other person under 20 minutes on the course that started at the Festival Ground in Carrot Bay, proceeded to the foot of Windy Hill, turned around to head to the foot of Long Bay hill, and returned to the start/finish.

The ever improving Dan Mitchell was third in 20:55.

On the distaff side, Katrina Lindsay won in 21:50. She was followed by Rosmond Johnson (22:24) and Kim Struiken (23:56).

Sophie Bennet was first for race walkers.

The next race of the series is the Beef Island Beach Bash on April 21, 2018.

Not sure why the Stoby still has sponsorship given he hasn’t won a race in forever.

Reuben is always on the podium. Its great the competition is fierce, you cant win 'em all and he always runs, reps his sponsor well, travelled to Guadelope to rep the territory, constantly in the press, wearing their name with pride. A good runner and very nice family man a good choice for the sponsor
