ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Commentator Julio Sam Henry has concluded that the current sewage infested state of the Village Cay area is one of the main reasons responsible for the relocation of a popular boat show and is advocating that officials remedy the Capital City’s sewage problem urgently.

“It looks like sewage in the middle of Road Town and we have this massive issue with sewage,” Henry said in agreement with a resident who recently complained about the problem.

Henry, while hosting the Speak Your Mind Show over the weekend, insisted that he was not knocking anyone but said the problem needed to be fixed, “I’m not knocking anybody and I’m not criticising anybody, but enough excuses, enough excuses. Get it done, fix it. Road Town will lose a lot.”

The commentator related that previously, there was a boat show that was hosted near Village Cay that has since been moved to Nanny Cay. According to Henry, the boat show is one that was critical to the economic stimulation and viability of the Capital.

Organisers, he noted, would not come out and say that one of the main reasons the show was relocated is a result of the fact that the area smells like a sewage dump but he felt it was probably one of the factors that caused the event to be moved.

“To be fair to the Minister of Communications and Works, his government inherited the sewage problem, but he knew that before he ran. He ran on that platform and they made promises to fix it, not to cover it up, but to fix it.”

Henry pointed out that it has now been over two years into the new administration without a resolution and further noted that the previous government tried to get some money for works ($15M) and one of the main reasons was to fix the sewage problem in Road Town.

It's funny to hear same Sam talk about this, when he is the very one advocating for Government to f... up taxpayer money on nonsense. You can't have it both ways boss, it's either we going fix things or have a parade with the money like what F.....r and VIP s....ings want.
