Stoby & Crumpler finish Blenheim Trust 5K Series unbeaten

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Already assured the series title, Reuben J. A. Stoby and Katrina Crumpler ensured they ended the Blenheim Trust 5K series unbeaten when the final race was held in conjunction with the National 5K Championship in Road Town on Saturday May 16, 2015.

Stoby, whose only defeat this year was in the Virgin Gorda Half Marathon, again ran unchallenged to victory. He clocked 17:52, several seconds slower than his Personal Best time of 17:41 recorded on the Carrot Bay course in March.

The Nagico Insurances-sponsored athlete was named the BVI All Comers champion and his time was also officially recognised as the BVI Men's All Comers 5k course record.

800m specialist and two-mile champion Tarique Moses took second in 18:17 and was named the National 5K champion. Moses also ended the Blenheim Trust 5K series in second place.

Julius Farley finished third in the final 5k race of the series in a time of 18:53. He ended the series in third also. Khirey Creque finished fourth in 19:44 and Zebalon A. McLean fifth.

Crumpler recorded 20:55.58 to finish the Blenheim Trust 5K series with a fast time that will also be officially recognised as the BVI Women’s All Comers 5K course record.

Rosmond Johnson was second in 22:07 while Kay Reddy beat the likes of Julianne Potgeiter and Anna Kinkead to take third in 24:22.

Johnson finished the series in second place while Kinkead was third.

Prizes were awarded to the various top three finishers of the final 5K race as well as the overall champions of the Blenheim Trust 5K series. Mrs Robinson’s famous banana bread was also there for athletes to enjoy after the race.
