"Stick with Mitch” under PVIM - worried Turnbull tells D2

-Says “I did not leave, I stayed” during 2017 hurricane devastation
Hon Melvin M. Turnbull (R2) aka 'Mitch' now with the Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL) led Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM 2) is urging his district two followers and supporters to not deviate to another district candidate, rather stick with him under the PVIM banner. Photo: Facebook
According to Mr Turnbull, “When we were in a position of dismay and disparity, when we were at our lowest point [in this] 2nd district community, I remember the day after that Thursday for the first time in over 15 years, that I walked from up the hill straight down to Cane Garden Bay… to check on each and every person I could find to see how they were doing,” he said. MEYERS ESTATE, Tortola, VI – Hon Melvin M. Turnbull (R2) aka 'Mitch' now with the Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL) led Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM -NDP 2) is urging his district two followers and supporters to not deviate to another district candidate, rather stick with him under the PVIM banner.

Mr Turnbull made the plea during a PVIM rally in Meyers Estate on Monday, February 18, 2019, where he reminded the community of his support and care given during the devastations of Hurricanes Irma and Maria of 2017.

Serving the People

“I want to tell you why you are to stick with Mitch, because when the hurricanes of 2017 came to these BVI… it completely decimated and destroyed the very infrastructure,” he told the crowds gathered in reminding them of past tribulations and trials.

“And when I saw the destruction, when I realised what had happened, the only thing that came out of me, is what is in me, which is to serve the people of the 2nd district,” he told those gathered to loud applause.

I stayed – Turnbull

Mr Turnbull implored, “I did not leave, I stayed and I worked to clean up the communities… we got on boats and travel to Jost van Dyke to serve the people there and to see about their wellbeing.”

He reminded the community that it did not matter if anyone voted for him or not, he was there and supported the community through to low times and will continue to do so. Mr Turnbull will be facing Carnel D. Clyne under the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) for the D2 seat.

Mitch, over the you’ve picked and choose who you wanted to help. Most of your family are sitting pretty.., the rest of us have not even gotten a cup of water in spite of all the relief the government and other organizations gave you for the district. As large as district 2 is you set up relief at your father’s church in Cane Garden Bay. If others did not have access to a vehicle to get there, persons from Brewers bay, Harrigan, Chalwell, Diamond and other D2 communities had to suffer in silence.
The real benefactors and their families whom you consistently supported are who you should depend on for your votes; such as your uncle Pops, your uncle George, (who brought you ton loads of people from St. Thomas to vote for you), the Turnbull and Rymer’s from CCB and a few more selected friends/family; not to forget your father whose personal interest it is for you to be reflected.
It is so sad to see how you’ve become so puffed up and power-hungry so quickly. What’s the difference between you and Myron? You seems to be cut from the same cloth.

I’m from D2, and I will not glance at any candidate with the colours blue or red. Corruption and Power are your rudder.
Humble yourself, and you will be exalted...

First of all... if you “suffered in silence” like you said, it must of been your damn pride that stopped you from getting anything from the relief efforts. Had you known the reason why the distribution center was relocated to the church you would understand, that Mitch best interest for his D2 community was at heart!!!! Mitch was given a chance to represent the second district... and within one term you people want to throw him under the bus!! Y’all are the same fools that stuck with Alvin Christopher for donkey years and cried for CHANGE!! You got CHANGE and you still complaining!! Mitch is on the right path, but one term can not realistically fix all the issues faced! Give that man his jacket, because he is deserving of it!! Stop listening to propaganda about specific families he is helping and open your eyes to what he has done for the D2 community!

Lastly... I pray that whomever you cast your vote for... can honestly STAND UP and REPRESENT D2!!

In a few days we will have a new representative and new government. That is what our country needs not more of the same

Spare me, Sounds like you have a whole lot to lose if Mitch loses and a nerve has been hit very hard. The truth is a hard thing to swallow. Guess who beg him the hardest might get a little government pittance; except its obvious that no begging is needed for specific persons in the district.

Truth is the reason why Mitch walk from CGB to Meyers was: a. The road was not accessible by vehicle. b. He went to check on his parents who lives in Meyers. I wish that he was honest enough to tell that to his audience.

Finally, you are well aware that the CGB Methodist Church and least one other D2 Building was a viable option for the relief centre.

    Remember that Greed is poisonous!!
