CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI — A man named Greg Baron was arrested on Sunday and charged with second degree assault and destruction of property after he slapped and strangled his girlfriend, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced on Monday November 9, 2015.

According to Ms Freeman, Baron, 39, of Estate Hope, was taken into custody after becoming involved in an altercation with his girlfriend where he assault her and also destroyed her cellphone.

No bail was set for Baron, which is in accordance with Virgin Islands law, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
