ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Since December 2017 it was stated in the House of Assembly that there were some 70 deaths since the September 2017 hurricanes and legislators had blamed the unprecedented numbers as an indirect result of the monster storms.

While the actual figure of deaths is unclear another three months on, it is a fact that the number keeps rapidly counting, with no less than two funerals almost every week.

This prompted local commentator Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline to remark that prayers are needed to stop the trend.

“There are so many loss of loved ones and we want you to know that we are in prayer for and with you. We need to continue intercessors and those of you who know how to pray to lift the spirit of death that still hovers over this Territory,” Mr Skelton-Cline stated on his show Honestly Speaking streamed live on Facebook on March 27, 2018.

Among the notable deaths recently are Virgin Gorda businessman, father, grandfather and pioneer, Edwin Allen George aka ‘Speedy’, who died on March 28, 2018; centenarian and devout Christian Mrs Christalia Gibbs-Hodge who died on Monday, March 26, 2018 and retired civil servant and sports enthusiast Mr David E. Fahie aka 'Lover Boy' and ‘Cannon’, who died on March 23, 2018 at Peebles Hospital.

“We must rid ourselves of that. We are attending far too many funerals and we ought to pray against that spirit,” Mr Skelton-Cline commented.

6 persons were killed as a direct result of hurricanes Irma (4) and Maria (2).

In those other Islands they simply kill each other daily. No waiting for Spirit of Death, They take lives with their own hands.

Unhealthy stress kills way after the effects of trauma if not treated through counseling, even children are affected in varying ways that exposes the effects, if not treated, later on in their lives to cope in certain situations. I do pray that our people take proactive approaches to illeviate the pains of unhealthy stress due to the devistating trauma that we have experienced. PREVENTION= Being Proactive, Not Reactive.

No matter what you may be going thru trust God He will see you thru in the good times and in the bad times. I'm afraid that without a lot of money to back up the rightful outrage, the voters simply won't do anything of any significance to change the current government

We need prayers for sure; however, we must also make sure it’s to “The Almighty God” and not the fallen angels (devils) who also pronounced themselves as gods, or else our path will remain the same or get worse.

At one point this man publicly announced that scammers internationally was using his name to collect millions of dollars from our devastation; he said that he was investigating. Whatever happened to the findings, if any? And how much were he abled to collect from his international donors to be put towards our recovery? Or was it for his self-serving publicity and his personal advancements as usual? Wouldn’t it be interesting to know from whom our $400m loan is coming from? But of course, this will be held a secret for as long as it can be kept as one.

Of course death will continue to hover over our islands...there's too many wicked and unclean hearts that live among us including thieves and murderers who prey on the innocent. And I strongly believe where innocent blood is shed....vengeance of the Lord will be soon to follow.

Lol, that is a funny one, Nod. But I believe that every event in a grown person's life is somehow related to past decisions he or she or their relatives made.

In owh case, if he is innocent then the universe will correct whatever wrong was done to him, and his relatives will gain the benefit of that correction.
