Soca Monarch BVI going Regional for 2016!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- After three successful staging of Soca Monarch BVI, HD Promotions is stepping up its game to Regional level as the event this year will be open to artistes from other Caribbean countries.

Soca Monarch BVI- Caribbean Edition, one of the events of VI Emancipation Festival, is slated for July 26, 2016 at a venue yet to be announced.

According to HD Promotions, the event is taking a dynamic shift this year and the general public can expect to see diversity within the show as it has extended the invitation to other Caribbean countries.

“After three successful years of Soca Monarch BVI, we are moving in the direction of improving the structure of the show. This year the show is expected to speak for itself. However, persons can anticipate a show to remember filled with high-level energy. It will be the most exciting show of the festival,” HD Promotions stated.

Artistes this year will be vying for a winner takes all cash prize of $10,000.00, among other prizes.

Changes

Unlike previous years where there were groovy and power categories, this year there will be one open category for all songs. Songs with BPM (Beats Per Minute) 105-170 will all be judged. There will be a Launch Party on June 5, 2016 and a Listening Party (Semi-Finals) on July 2, 2016.

Registration has already begun and ends on May16, 2016. Persons interested in competing in Soca Monarch BVI 2016 can get a copy of the registration form only at Facebook/socamonarchbvi or email: socamonarchbvi@gmail.com.

‘Big international artiste’ coming

Meanwhile, HD Promotions has announced that a popular international artiste will be here for the show on July 26, 2016.

“Big international artiste,” is all that HD Promotions would disclose to this news site when pressed for a hint.

The reigning Soca Monarchs are Martino ‘Tino’ Mark (Groovy Segment) and Dante ‘Pascal’ Wattley (VI Style).

    If this is held in the festival village it will be awesome for the booth owners...let's see if the festival committee jumps at this..

    Well I hope this year it would be at the festival village or pier park. Last years venue didn't cut it, they need to change it.

    This is bull... every year yall changing up the soca monarch competition... no wonder last year flop. It was awful... think Boss should just put it back to how it was at first! This winner takes all ain encouraging at all. Let's see how much ppl enter.

      I love this why too often i go to shows and so call local artist collect thousands of dollars just for being in the competition i am referring to soca monarch and calypso show. Artist must come good this time boy a boy big man a big man
