Slips in testimony raised in Police assault trial
Police Officers Marvin Robinson and Wendell Anthony, who have both been interdicted from duty, pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm as allegedly committed against the now deceased Brandon George, the Virtual Complainant (VC) in the matter.
Aaron Headley, a former classmate and friend of the now deceased Brandon George, previously testified that he was at George’s home and witnessed George’s alleged assault by the police officers on June 14, 2012.
During cross-examination by attorney Richard Rowe yesterday, Headley admitted to making several mistakes while giving his testimony in February and recanted several things he had said previously on the stand.
Headley previously testified that Anthony head-butted George with his motorcycle helmet but had told police in his statement that Robinson had done so. He also testified that Robinson walked behind him towards the stairs leading to the house but his statement noted it was Anthony who had done so.
When asked about the reason for the inconsistency, Headley stated it was ‘my bad’.
There were also inconsistencies with regard to which officer had been wearing a helmet on the day of the incident as his statement previously noted that one officer had a helmet while the other had left his helmet on the motorcycle but he had testified that both officers were wearing helmets during the alleged confrontation with George.
The defence proposed that George received a head injury from Robinson’s name tag while he was involved in a scuffle but Headley denied this and insisted he was head butted by the officer.
The trial continues on May 7, 2014 after the defence opted to ask certain questions of Headley.

And you need a life
please take down that title because you are a disgrace to the profession. You should know that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but then again you are just buying the title so why should I even waste my time on you.
