Sizzla: ‘bun’ sexual abuse of children
The Iris Freeman Festiville was filled to capacity with persons from all corners of the various Islands of the Territory last night August 1, 2014 and with the blend of reggae artists it was nothing but a super entertaining show for 60th Festival celebrations.
But while they all were focused on the musical entertainment the last man to take the stage for the night, Sizzla, couldn’t conclude his performance without leaving his fans with a message. He was the one that seemed to have had the best of the crowd and as he was wrapping up his performance he put in the few words calling on men who are guilty of abusing young children to ‘bun’ the act.
“…When big man raping little boys that is Sodom,” he said. His selection of songs for the night was that of love and the call for unity among the peoples of the world, a selection that had his fans going wild.
The another call was made on stage last night as well and that was for the Virgin Islands to legalize marijuana, this time it came from the lips of popular 'Morning Ride' radio show host Paul ‘Gadiethz’ Peart.
The other international artiste, Jah Cure, had more of the romantic style contemporary blend of reggae and with an eagle’s eyes on the crowd one could have seen the intimacy that locked many couples as they held on tight and grooved to the blends of Jah Cure.
The other entertainers for the night were locals who started the show and did a great job of delivering high quality entertainment. That can be said of our local Maka B who opened the night with a high level of praise to the Almighty Jah doing ‘Give thanks and praise’. He was followed by Heritage, Shine Eye, Shine Eye and PAK, Rytical and the recorded Deejaying of Ah Milli Sounds.
The other great performer of the show was one of Trinidad and Tobago’s leading comedians Mr Tommy Joseph who hosted the show. Who hadn’t a laugh had no sense of humour.
The night ended prematurely as the committee had to make the decision of heeding the storm watch as the winds were sending their signals as were the clouds with spates of downpour. The stage was pulled down following the performance of Sizzla which ruled out the much anticipated performance of VI’s very own Showtime Band.
Tonight is expected to be the International Soca night with performances lined up from a mixture of local and international artistes. The lineup for tonight at the Iris Freeman Festiville includes Razor Blades, Carimi, Poorsa, Chalkdust, Mr. Chukky, Glama Gurl, Tino, B’More, Sistah Joyce, VIBE and Skinny Fabulous.

Sizzla is my Artist, love jah cure, but rather see sizzla live over jah cure anytime.
p.s wonder if the BVI Artist got paid.
Unlike Jah Cure who has 3-4 albums Sizzla have 72 album's. So Doc do the maths... Sizzla Did not he best but it was not far from the best... Also he was under songs control beyond his will.
You don't need to buy a Sizzla CD..he have fans who's going to get it themself.
Jah Cure was kinda OK...But Sizzla Sizzla Sizzla Kalonji was pure Fire.....
