SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – A small but intriguing race card awaits avid fans of Horse Racing on Sunday April 2, 2017 at Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cows Bay, Tortola, with six horses from St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (USVI) expected to also compete.

With five races scheduled, beginning at 2:00 PM, there will also be four debut horses on view, three from Tortola and one from St Thomas.

In Race One, over 7 Furlongs for Class D Horses and with a Purse of $3,500, Sparky Bee leads the challenge and will be hoping to take the money back to St Thomas, but Meddling Birdie and Big Meow will have different ideas.

Race Two, also over 7 Furlongs, but for Class C Horses and worth the same $3,500, features 3 debutants, Irish Smarty (STT), as well as local horses, Sandler and D Big Gossip. D Q Rester makes up the field and all are expected to weigh in at 119lbs.

Race Three, over 7 Furlongs for Fillies and Mares includes the newly named Red Beard, formerly known as Rags to Riches and debutant from St Thomas, Moving Part. The field of entrants is completed by Top Class Citizen and has a winner’s purse of $4,000.

Race Four, worth $4,000, is over 7 Furlongs and features three class C and B horses, Giant Valley, Daboluck and Call Daddy (STT).

Race Five, the last race of the day and a 7 Furlong affair worth $8,000 is also the biggest field with 5 Horses, all of whom are Class A.

Park Ranger, Honors and American Creed will fly the local flag, but face stiff opposition from Totally Evil and I’m Sensational, both from St Thomas.
