TRELLIS BAY, Beef Island, VI- A male motor scooter rider was rushed to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital this afternoon, August 26, 2020, after sustaining injuries in an accident on Beef Island.
What appeared to be a lone scooter accident took place around 4:00pm.
Video footage sent to our newsroom showed the injured man lying in some bushes at the side of the road with his motor scooter nearby.
A crowd had gathered at the scene, including a large number of motor scooter riders.
A few persons were seen checking on the man before ambulance arrived on the scene.
The accident was confirmed by Police Information Officer, Ms Akia L. Thomas.
“Details surrounding the accident are unclear; however, one male, who sustained injuries, was taken to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith hospital by ambulance. Investigations are ongoing,” Ms Thomas told our newsroom.

Businesses can’t operate but these nuisances allowed to roam free.
WHY ARE THE POLICE NOT PATROLLING?
If they’re not getting locked up, why would businesses be fined for opening to generate revenue?
The scooter riders who are neglient with their own lives will pay the price. Just leave them kill themselves what does that got to do with you..... its their life and if they want it cut short then LET THEM GO..... not enough jobs going around anyway.
I would actually promote scooter riding without helmets GO FOR IT :)....
