SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Shortly after a section of the Sea Cows Bay-Chalwell Road, known to many as ‘Elevator Road’, was paved on Friday, March 20, 2020, a motor scooter rider thought it a wise idea to use the road, damaging it in the process.

The road had been closed to thru-traffic by Government to repair an area that was undermining and deemed a hazard to the public.

The motor scooter rider ignored all the signs, traffic drums and barriers to ride on the drying concrete, leaving a huge gash along with foot tracks.

Third District Representative, Honourable Julian Fraser RA commented on Facebook on March 21, 2020 that he had only recently commended hired contractors Stealth Construction for paving the road on Friday, March 20, 2020 when he received the news of the damage done.

“Before I was finished giving kudos to the contractor for paving this road yesterday, the devil had plans for it...can you believe the wickedness!” Hon Fraser exclaimed.

They should find the person and charge them for repairs and Labour to the surface as well as taking their license(if they have one). And make them apologise publicly. Just my opinion

I would have done the same if had an Illegal bike that wasn’t license and had insurance. The Minister of the 5th District too afraid to stroke his pen and give the law enforcement the full permission to kick illegal bikers off their bikes whenever they are and make them walk. I the BVI have 100 bikes 3% is legit. We can’t keep letting people who don’t pay taxes keep costing us.

The rider have a right. How much time must we ask the government to ban these useless things off the nation roads? Should be worst than that. The government will learn eventually.

Well Well, you are definitely a top class @hole. The people have the road block off and any one with sense can see that it was recently paved. Either you ARE the @ $$ that rode on it...or it was one of your dumb friends

Since you are justifying his actions, you seem to know who did it, or you might be the person.

Where the heck were you when common sense was going around. If the person did not know, then they are just as stupid as you are or no joke BLIND. How can one not see two neon orange drums on each side of the road connected to caution tape and not know what it is or mean. Yes, the bike rider willfully did that. Perfect example of young blacks destroying their Country. Who mad, mad. You’ll get over it.

Is this person a blind POS (Piece of Shingle) that he could not see the barrier and chose not to report his "error" .?
Perhaps to fix or assist in fixing his unintended vandalism to public property?

This is the precise reason we will never progress as a Territory...these idiots have no respect for the law nor property...we need to just ban these bikes/scooters. Only a foolish person could have done this...SHAME on you...

some of the bike riders are becoming an issue. Some of the riders have little or no regard for the traffic regulations and now destruction of government property. When will this madness come to an end and what steps law enforcement taking to Fix the problems.

From what I see and read, the bike riders and their antics are supported and sanctioned by the current Gov. They are empowered by the Hon Friend Of the Scooters. Why not? A guaranteed source of the mighty vote no matter the cost to the VI. Self above country.

Indiscipline and stupidity all around -
Just check the schools. When we try to change these negative behaviours we are reprimanded and put on trial. Before long, the children will be running the schools.

If there wasn’t so many foreigners, and illegal immigrants, then the place wouldn’t be so congested and the locals would be free to ride safely! Don’t ban any bikes. How about banning all migration to the territory, and deporting all foreigners!

Or be more selective in choosing the human import.
Apparently the bottom of the barrell is being scraped in choosing the imports from certain parts of the globe.
