Sailing programme continues as normal

NANNY CAY, Tortola, VI - After a fantastic week at the BVI spring regatta with the raffle earning over $11,000 for the youth sailing programme, it is all back to normal for the After School Sailing Courses at Nanny Cay, for the Royal BVI Yacht Club.

Additionally for Young Sailors the RBVIYC, with Easter Holidays fast approaching, will be running camps throughout the break. These will be running from Monday April 14, 2014 to Thursday April 17 & Tuesday April 22, 2014 to Friday April 25, 2014 from 8:30 - 4:30pm.

It will be $40 per day per participant. One does not have to sign up for the whole week as options are available just to do it for the day. Saturday FunSail will still be running also however normal after school classes will not be running over these two weeks.

In other Sailing news, last Thursday members of the RBVIYC Youth Sailing Programme were out on the water escorting one of the traditional sloop boats bring in the Queen’s Commonwealth baton. With Thad Lettsome holding the baton on the sloop the team consisting of Hayden Saunders, Noah Pierce, Amiele Clark, Nathan Haycraft, Sam Childs and Rayne Duff followed in their boats doing a fantastic job of tacking and gybing before finishing on the beach where Thad handed over the baton.
