RVIPF launches raffle for Ford Ranger XLT

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has launched a Grand Vehicle Raffle as part of a major fundraiser drive for the force’s 2020 Police Week activities.

According to a release on the fundraiser, the raffle is in partnership with Tortola Auto Group (TAG) and the vehicle of choice is a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT. The winner will also get six months free gas courtesy of Delta. The vehicle was officially unveiled on Saturday, August 2 at the Prime-Time Festival Village.

Up to the Grand Raffle Drawing, many early bird raffle prizes are there to be won including two 55” TVs, a round trip ticket to Puerto Rico and two round trip tickets to St Maarten. The first early bird drawing date is set for August 31 and the second, on October 26 2019. The Grand drawing is set for Christmas eve, December 24, 2019, at Delta Petroleum’s Pasea Estate location.

Deputy Commissioner of Police and chair of the Police Week Planning Committee, Mr Alwin James, stated, “I am excited about the partnership with TAG, Nagico, Delta Petroleum and other sponsors to give a happy winner this vehicle. All proceeds from this raffle will be used for community projects. We see the need to consistently engage in the development of various areas within the community. I look forward to the overwhelming support of the community, there are lots of prizes to be won for twenty bucks.”

TAG’s Senior Executive for Marketing and Sales, Mr Gordon U. French commended the RVIPF for the initiative to embark on programmes to benefit the community.

“This is a win-win for all. Someone will drive home a best in class, diesel-powered dual-cab pickup that is built by Ford for on and off-road adventures. The Ranger is fuel-efficient and is equipped with comprehensive Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which enhances the Ranger’s performance to help owners keep pace with any job, anywhere, whether on the worksite or the weekend,” Mr French stated.  

According to the release, the RVIPF is spearheading many community projects and initiatives during the 2019 Police Week activities, which include, food hamper donations to Family Support Network, donations to BVI Autism Center, and engagements with the seniors through the ‘Plant a Tree’ Initiative and senior night activities.

Sponsors include Tortola Auto Group (TAG), Nagico, Delta Petroleum, KAD Pools, Travel Wize Ltd. and PST Law Firm.
