RVIPF arrests first curfew violator
"The public is urged to abide by the laws of the land as anyone found violating these laws may face being arrested. The only persons that should be on the streets after 8:00pm are essential workers who are actively on duty and can produce their emergency passes," a release from the RVIPF noted.
Disappointing - CoP Matthews
While the RVIPF did not name the offender, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Michael B. Matthews reminded all of the serious nature of this situation and said the curfew is there to protect the Territory and its communities by seeking to contain the spread of Covid-19.
"Please do not place yourself or my officers at unnecessary risk by not adhering to the law. Last night’s example was disappointing and was the actions of a selfish and naïve individual. I am confident the vast majority will be compliant but for those who choose not to be there are consequences,” he said.
Only essential workers are allowed on the roads after a 24-hour lockdown takes effect from 8:00pm tonight, Friday March 27, 2020, until 6:00am on Thursday, April 2, 2020, and no businesses should be opened during this time.
Essential workers only permitted on roads
According to Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Carvin Malone (AL), essential workers include, "Officers of private security, service providers as defined in section two of the Private Security Industry Act of 2007, Customs and immigration officers, if they are on duty, [and] the public and private sector waste management services."
Hon Malone said the list further includes "fuel distribution and delivery services in the public and private sector, social care providers, the courts, senior magistrate and coroner, mortuary services, humanitarian support, emergency call handlers, freight courier and cargo distribution.”
Other groups classified as essential services will be certain statutory and laundry services, media and broadcast providers, farming, agriculture, fishery and veterinarian services, transportation services that would be tasked to provide transportation to essential and critical operations in addition to Supermarkets and restaurants providing services to and for essential services and critical operations, the health and emergency operations centre.
The curfew measures were put in places after the Territory recorded its first two cases of COVID-19 on March 25, 2020.

I am going to keep things straight with you. Those inmates up on the hill is already stressed out being bunched up on each other, their families and loved ones visits is put on hold, I don’t think they will be happy to see you knowing you might be the one to bring and spread the virus up in their home and $%&& them all up.
Please Keep a vigilante check in the Purcell area especially where those degenerates hang out. Thanks.
When you breach state of emergency laws, you should remain in custody because the courts are closed and other legal personnels are indoors.
NO BAIL..
