GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- Action in the 2019 BVICA T20 Tournament for the Hon Ralph T. O’Neal Cup will continue this Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Greenland Recreation ground on the eastern end of Tortola.

An exciting matchup is expected between Roadtown Wholesale Trading and Vincy CC in the feature game at 1:30pm.

Grenada CC come up against Spartans in the opening clash of the day from 9:ooam.

Police agonisingly short against Cavaliers

In latest matches, played May 5, 2019 at the same venue, Police put on a stubborn display of batting but still came up short against Cavaliers CC by just 14 runs.

Cavaliers, sent to bat, chalked up 207 for 8 off the allotted 20 overs with a top score of 40 not out from Gopaul Boodram.

Ron Augustine and Kevin Landon had two wickets each, bowling for Police.

The lawmen then took charge at the crease, with Collis Frazer registering an unbeaten 84 and Jamal Mickle an unbeaten 64; however, the overs expired when Police were 193 for 2.

Vikings scrape past Royal Knights

The second game of the day turned out to be a thriller with Vikings CC scoring 200 for 8 and Royal Knights falling short by just 2 runs, on 198 for 7.

Vikings were boosted by a 36-ball 81 from Junnic Mingo and a responsible 35 from Bashir Hidar.

Anthony Slowley and Reno Mitteholzer, with two scalps each, were the chief wicket takers for Royal Knights.

When Royal Knights responded, Wayne Richards held strong for 56 and then skipper Joemal Lafleur made a quick fire 40 while Anthony Slowley let loose his bat to score 35 from 14 balls.

Nevertheless, it was not the day for Royal Knights to taste glory.
