Rotary Sunrise walks for peace
The walk begins at 7:30 A.M. at the Road Town roundabout and participants are being encouraged to bring friends and family members as well as to wear yellow.
The ‘walk for peace’ is an open activity to everyone but according to the club’s Director of Public Image, Ken Guiste they are hoping to have maximum involvement of media operatives. “The walk for peace starts from the round-about at Eurika to the round-about at One Mart and back as a gesture of good will and peace to mankind in aid of Rotary month.”
Earlier in the month of January, the Rotary families of the Virgin Islands celebrated their 45th Anniversary when they honoured their chartered members. Coinciding with the celebrations, they have had an early launch of the February quarterly newsletter on January 22, feedback from Facebook “Rotary Awareness Question”, and had invited the Rotary Club of Tortola PI Director to speak on the subject of The Tortola Club’s 45 year history in the VI.
Still on the activity chart is a cheque presentation, water bottle distribution at a club meeting slated for January 29, 2013, presentation of water bottles to children of the Rainbow Children’s Home, the joint Club Publication Club Assembly – Membership, Public Image, Service Projects, New Generations, Rotary Foundation, Club Administration initiative, among several others.

The 2013 Rotary District Conference will be held in the Virgin Islands on May 13 – 18, 2013.
Countries to attend include Anguilla, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Haiti, Jamaica, St Maarten, St. Martin/St Barths, Turks & Caicos Islands and US Virgin Islands.
