ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – This year, Miss BVI 2013/14 Rosanna K. Chichester was selected to attend the Miss World pageant and according to the team working vigorously with her to ensure that she is ready to her fullest potential, she is a masterpiece to be contended with once she hits the stage come December 14, 2014 at ExCeL London.

In an invited interview Miss World Committee Chairman Mr Damion C. Grange said Ms Chichester is working on her stage presence and her talent piece something he said that is going to be a definite surprise on the world stage.

Her trainer is Ms Charisse C. Thomas, one who has an eye of the qualities that are necessary for a world stage in pageantry and is very impress with the Virgin Islands representative for this year. “Charisse is literally one of the best modeling coaches on the island,” said Mr Grange.

According to Grange the team feels that Ms Chichester is at an advantage above the 2013 representative as Chichester has been involved in pageantry ahead of Miss World. “Unlike Cassandra (Malone). Cassandra went from Miss Fifth Form to Miss World. Ms Chichester is Miss British Virgin Islands 2013 and that means that she goes off with some experience.”

He noted however that there is a big difference between local staging and international staging and that’s the aspect that Ms Thomas has been very successful with as she works with Ms Chichester.

According to Ms Thomas, she has identified a number of strengths in Ms Chichester. “I think that Rosanna is very poised, she knows herself very well, in terms of walking I don’t think she has a lot to do as she is pretty skilled in that area already and I think that she has a great personality as well,” said Ms Thomas.

Miss World is a different pageant from Miss Universe noted Ms Thomas, as it is one that looks for a young woman that is very involved in her community especially in the area of working with children, something that Ms Chichester has been very diligent with.

Her platform is Cancer and as the Treasure of the BVI Cancer Society she has been working to a great extent with groups of children across the Territory in schools and other grouping.

While the pageant is December 14 Ms Chichester departs for London one month ahead on November 20, 2014 as a requirement.

Key to her success at the pageant is the voting of supporters for the popularity competition. “We are appealing to the public to be a big support to our local girl by voting for her in the popularity competition because that helps a great lot to push one contestant into the top ten. The winner of the popularity contest automatically goes into the top ten, so we need to vote, vote, vote, vote. We can do this,” said Mr Grange.

So we stop having shows, now we are selecting persons to have a 'CROWN' to represent this island, what's the problem no money, or its just that no one wants to run if there is no car in it, soon I would like to see Miss BVI do that, because there is where trouble would start.

It is a shame how the BVI do not support their own I admire the other countries how they give all their support to their girls. We have a gem to represent the BVI and we don't even know that. Come on BVI she is our own lets rally around her. She will make us proud. Go Miss Chichester you do have what it take I hope you get the support you deserve...my two cents.

I am sorry to be negative but all she will accomplish in this role is what she accomplished as Ms. BVI and maybe worse because unlike the last queen her talent is nothing special to the wider world that teaches gymnastics for physical education (she ahs no other talent). Our small island mentality is what keeps us at point A. We never think big and outside the box. We settle for the mediocre and miniscule!!! I know many will hate/dislike the comment but it is as real as it's going to get.

Miss world is a different stage.. while I don't think she has the chance to shine in the Miss Universe pageant, in the Miss World, there are a lot of fast track competition that she can excel in like talent, sports, and modeling. I wish her best of luck still.
