ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- On Sunday, December 3, 2017, 29 Northwest employees and community members from store locations challenged themselves with the Run Barbados Marathon, a 26.2 mile run in support of the Company’s Healthy Horizons Foundation.

Representing the [British] Virgin Islands was Mr Dennis Versoza from Road Town Wholesale Trading, whose fundraising efforts helped to raise $8,000 for the BVI Diabetes Association.

The success of the month long fundraising event was made possible by customer donations on “World Diabetes Day” at all RiteWay Food Markets locations. RiteWay Food Markets also raised funds by raffling a TV.

“We are pleased to recognise and thank Dennis Versoza, long-time Roadtown Wholesale employee for participating in this event and our customers for their generous support of this worthy cause,” stated Guy Strickland, Managing Director, RoadTown Wholesale.

Mrs Jean Vanterpool, President of the BVI Diabetes Association, expressed her gratitude to RTW for choosing to support the Diabetes Association and their efforts to provide assistance for those in need within the community. She noted that the funds would go a long way in helping to raise awareness and advocate for healthy living as a healthy lifestyle is the beginning of combatting non-communicable diseases and ultimately limiting their effects on the community.
