ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste-DaBreo yesterday June 6, 2014 told Richard Whyte that he should try blowing bubbles for fun when he felt the urge to use cannabis.

Whyte appeared before the court charged with possession of a controlled drug. The court heard that on March 24, 2014 police found Whyte with 4 grams of cannabis.

Whyte is said to be a minor league baseball player and his attorney at law Stephen R. Daniels said with such a charge against him, Whyte’s promising future can be at risk. Daniels then sought to discuss the issue with the prosecution.

It was after Daniels informed the Magistrate of his intension to have discussions with the prosecution that DaBreo dished out her advice.

She told Whyte whenever making the decision to use the controlled drug he should first think of his future. It was at that stage she suggested for fun he should, ‘pick up a glass of water a blow bubbles in it’.

The court is likely to hear of the discussion and decision between Whyte’s Attorney and the Crown when they return to court on June 27, 2014.

And is that a valid reason for it to be legalized? Seems like you smoking to much of it to not exercise good judgment and common sense.

It should be legalized and done with. The government can benefit from it by taxing it. As if their not getting it in prison; so send them to jail for what? They would be still up there smoking while in jail.

Might as well legalise rape if 85 percent of the youth them doing it too.
      Still sticking to your motto?
And I am for decriminalising weed even though I don't really smoke it.
Can't get this thing the proper attention it need by dropping weak statements like that.

Rape and marijuana are two totally different matters.(just saying) So its not wise to class both of them in a motto.(MICK MARS) Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or other forms sexual penetration initiated against one or more individuals without the consent of those individuals. While as ; marijuana cannabis, especially as smoked in cigarettes. So no way they can be compared.
