ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Thoughts that Really Uptown will not rebound from his most recent loss in the Governor’s Cup at the St Thomas Carnival races on Friday, May 2, 2014 have been swiftly put to rest by the L&B Stables team.

Speaking exclusively with Virgin Islands News Online, Michael W. Hodge expressed that the horse’s loss was entirely due to tiredness and stated that the horse will run again soon.

“There is so much talk going on you don’t even know what to do… the horse is good… he tried,” Hodge stated about Uptown’s performance in the race.

He said although people might be speculating and saying things outside of the L&B stables camp, those on the inside know that there was nothing wrong with the horse.

According to Hodge “the jockey said the horse got tired coming down the stretch.” He denied that the horse was overworked during training before the race and noted that the horse remained in good shape.

He also hinted that the jockey’s position might be on the line following the loss but he could not comment on the issue as the team had not made a decision on the issue so far.

Hodge also indicated that the horse is likely to next be on show in June at Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cows Bay, Tortola where the team is expecting to have a rematch with the horses involved in the Governor’s Cup race.

So I guess whichever horse lose you could blame it on tiredness and request a rematch.

Thank god Admission lame.....Anytime he had run a better race the sell out might have been unnoticed.. whoever was in on this you all f...ing up the sport. Swag Daddy ran a very game race and if uptown was not in that race at all i would think James Penn is psychic because he would have won from gate to wire like he was saying for the whole of last week. Checking online i realized that Swag is a money horse. The race to be seen is Swag Daddy in his current condition vs Really Uptown (with an honest jockey and possibly honest camp as well) vs Town Hall at a mile +. Town hall is said to be hurt though...... Edge Ahead cant run with these horses Slevin neither, and Admission is LAME!! This race would also be a great test for Stephen Got Better.. Real Talk!!!

town hall jockey rode that race foolishly..if he had made his move on he back stretch and place town hall closer.. he would of pass swagdaddy with ease and won the governors cup..family affaires need to get rid of he a$$!
