DUFFS BOTTOM, Tortola, VI – The Hon. Julian Fraser/Save the Seed Centre Intermediate Basketball League continued this past weekend with some huge scoring, big wins, heavy defeats and some epic end to end basketball that kept basketball fans on the edge of their seats and hearts pumping.

On Friday night, September 6, 2013 action got underway with West Gunners beating Avengers 93-84.

Dashon Hodge top scored with 28 points for Gunners with Kyle Abraham contributing 14, Keshawn Pope 12 and Travis Brumant 10 and 7 rebounds.

The Avengers were led by Audley Stevens’ double of 29 points and 13 rebounds, whilst Shakeel Collins scored 16 points, Garvin Frett 14 and Omy Reyes 13.

The newly named College Boys (HLSCC Stingrays as was) then beat Gilas 120-90 with Shakeem Freeman hitting a massive 44 points and adding 11 rebounds to complete a double. Carlisle France added 29 points, Ashley Ritter 10 with 7 rebounds and Kaleem Scatliffe 10 with 3 rebounds.

For Gilas, Tyron Tyson scored 32 points, Louis Poblete 25, Cesar 10 with 9 rebounds and Stan Inosanto 10.

On Saturday night, September 7, 2013 Avengers beat real tool 105 – 56 with Omy Reyes scoring 22 points. Garvin Frett scored 21 points with 11 rebounds, James Stoutt 16 also with 11 rebounds and Sanday Nadal 14.

For real tool, Justin Solomon scored 13 points with 8 rebounds and 5 steals, Devon Blaize scored 11, Llewelyn Desant 9 and Dillon Etienne 8.

Ruff house then beat the Game Boyz 85-71 mainly thanks to 27 points from Shamoii Dagou. Dagou added 7 rebounds to his night's work whilst Kishawn Frett scored 19 points, Roger Farrington 16, and Ashfield Frett 10 with 11 rebounds.

Terry Charles top scored for Game Boyz with 18 points. Shaquille Fonseca scored 16 with 8 rebounds, Kirk Adams 15 with 7 rebounds and Jubal Jones 13 with 8 rebounds.

Top Shottas had been defeated by the knights in the evening’s first game, 75-71.

The knights were led by Jevon Serrants 30 points and 13 rebounds. Whilst Nigel Todman added 16 points and 15 rebounds. Kelon Fortune notched 14 points and Eric Casey 10.

Tyrone Donovan notched 20 points for Shottas, whilst Jamal Turnbull scored 11, Alliston Leonard 9 with 10 rebounds and Melvin Richards 8.

The weekend drew to a close with another series of exciting battle, commencing with the Junior West Gunners beating Swaggers 26-20.

Daundre Penn scored 7 points with 8 rebounds, Kendall Davis hit 6, Ajai Frett 5 and Raheem Hodge 4, whilst for the Swaggers, K’Andre Clarke scored 6 with 5 rebounds, both Keshaun Esprit and Antwon Robinson scored 4 with 5 rebounds and Malaki Smith 2 with 4 rebounds.

Shaquille “Shaq” Fonseca then piled on the Pressure for winless Real Tool with an all court performance that spurred his team, The Game Boyz, to a 105-73 victory.

Seemingly everywhere and always in the thick of the action “Shaq” may have only scored 18 points, but he masterminded the win with a powerful display of fast skillfull ball. Terry Chalwell top scored with 26 points, Nelhassi Chalwell added 22 and Kirk Adams 13.

For Real Tool, who were allowed the freedom of the court towards the end of the game, Justin Solomon scored 26 points, Rolando Rogers and Touche McLean both hit 10 and Llewelyn Desant 9.

    I hear the league ton it up by bringing the real guys to ref the games and now the league is big to contend with. Yes the real referees them Joejack and Maltman, dem boys had the place under control and the games dem was top notch. Mc Lean, Roger and Frazer I hope ah you keep bringing them refs. Keep the league alive and games them hot mison. Cant wait for next weekend.
