‘We were more comfortable on Saturday’- Matthews

Mr Matthews was frank in saying he was not too impressed with this team’s showing on Friday night, despite the win.

“We actually played a better game on Saturday. I guess Friday night it was just about getting a feel of the arena. On Saturday we were more comfortable, more relaxed, and we played a stronger game.

Overall, all the guys came out and played really hard and we were successful.”

Speaking about Pure Playaz’s involvement in the tournament in St Kitts, Mr Matthews said the St Kitts Amateur Basketball Association reached out to assistant coach Mr Karl M. Scatliffe.

“They heard we are the champs so they wanted to do a champ versus champ tournament,” Mr Matthews said, adding that the tournament is done regularly in St Kitts.

Ronald Simmonds aka ‘Gola’ and Karl M. Scatliffe made up the coaching staff for Pure Playaz in St Kitts.
