ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Early to wake, early to rise, patrons came out in their numbers on the streets of Road Town, to participate in the first tramp session, that is normally known as a warm-up session for the parade and other tramps to come.

Pure mas and bacchanal was the routine of this morning’s jam August 5, 2012, where Virgin Islanders, residents, and many visitors from the United States Virgin Islands and other neighbouring countries participated in the crazy hype that was created by the local bands and their hit songs.

From around 3 a.m. in the morning, the waves of local bands circulated in Road Town, sending a signal that they were ready and set to begin this morning’s jump up session.

With the route carefully guided and supervised by committee members, there were no accidents.

Powder, water, rum, everything were thrown in the air; bottles shaking, bush pushing, it was a team of choreographed dancers, as ShowTime Band played song after song.

Persons who attended the tramp began in the vicinity of Purcell and were taken down the main streets of Road Town, ending at the Central Administrative Complex.

Groups came out in matching shirts, representing different business, or just to represent their friendship between each other as they paraded through the streets as one, hands over shoulders and side to side.

The bands ended their sessions by inviting their fans to come out later today August 6, 2012, to the parade day in Road Town.
