Premier Fahie addresses hundreds of tourism investors in Miami

MIAMI, Florida, USA - As the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Government continues its aggressive push towards improving the territory’s tourism sector, Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) attended the Caribbean Hotel and Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS), in Miami Florida.

The summit, which opened on May 21, 2019, at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in Florida, also saw attendance by Hon Albert Bryan Jr., Governor of the US Virgin Islands (USVI) and Hon Daniel Gibbs, President of Saint Martin.

“The Premier will have the opportunity to network with financiers and investment executives to generate productive exchanges and partnerships at the summit and explore investment opportunities for the BVI,” a release from the Government Information Service (GIS) noted yesterday, May 22, 2019.  

VI Tourism on forefront 

Premier Fahie was also invited to speak on a panel about the territory's tourism before hundreds of investors and high level stakeholders in the tourism industry and hotel sector.

Further, the leader of Government Business is also expected to hold discussions with the USVI Governor as well the leader of Saint Martin, moving forward.

“More than 30 percent of attendees at CHRIS are Chief Executives, Presidents, or Owners of Companies, making the event one of the most keenly attended conferences focused on the Caribbean,” the release noted. 

The Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) is the Caribbean’s most noteworthy hotel investment conference with over a decade of experience in bringing the hotel/tourism investment community together in the Caribbean.

During the 2018 meeting, the event saw 421 registered delegates and a total of 39 countries representing their tourism interests.
