‘Pray for me’ – Hon Fraser tells residents
It was at the occasion of one of the Third District Leader’s twice yearly community feedback meeting held at the Valarie O. Thomas Community Centre on May 22, 2014.
The meeting saw Hon Fraser bringing a number of issues to the people but it was during the question and answer segment that a local reporter Mr Zan Lewis popped a question that shifted eyes on the upcoming elections of the VIP.
Asked Mr Lewis of Hon Fraser, “You made mention of the issue or rescuing the economy. You also made mention of the continued stride, the continued downward slide of the economy. You said that one of the first things we have to do is to take the bull by the horns. Do you see yourself as that person to take the bull by the horns to rescue the economy and what is likely to happen on the 28th of this month? Would you say that is the first step for you in that direction?”
In the initial response to Mr Lewis’ question Hon Fraser said that the next leader must be prepared, whoever it is, and if they are not prepared, they would have a rude awakening as the country will continue to slide.
“Mr Fraser you are looking to be the next leader because you have been nominated to take the post of Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party. You made the statement that the first thing is to take the bull by the horns! You are moving in that direction. Do you see yourself as that leader to take the bull by the horn…?”
“You can say that,” repeated Hon Fraser twice. “I am not a prophet.” It was following this bout of questioning that Mr Lewis said that he would press no further as time would tell. Hon Fraser then said, “Pray for me.”
