SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI: Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding a scooter accident that occurred last Friday, October 5, 2018, in the area of Manuel Reef, on the main island of Tortola.

While the information is still unfolding, a young man involved in the lone scooter accident sustained serious injuries.

He was rushed to Peebles Hospital after reportedly suffering two broken legs and what was believed to be a fractured skull. Eyewitness on site said the young man was also bleeding from the mouth. 

We will update this story, as more information becomes available.

Ban scooters? 

In the past three years, the Territory has been rocked by several scooter accidents which resulted in death, injuries and even damages to automobiles. Local radio commentator Claude O. Skelton-Cline has called for the banning of scooters, however, his suggestion has been an unpopular one.

    is like ever week an young kid get damage from a scooter I said it before I will said it again them scooter need to be band, every where u look a lot of people not riding with an helmet, not respecting the traffic at all, passing thought traffic all over the road, I just hope that young man is ok get those scooter off the road
