ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Following inquiries that Virgin Islands News Online made yesterday February 8, 2016, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) confirmed today February 9, 2016 that a human skull was found behind a Main Street store.

“Police will submit what appears to be a human skull for archaeological examination following its discovery behind a Main Street store by a painter yesterday morning,” said a press release from Police Information and Press Officer Diane Drayton.

According to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online, the skull was discovered in the upper Main Street area.

The release said that the RVIPF does not connect the discovery to recent missing person’s reports, however it will be carrying out the necessary forensic examination in hopes of confirming an identity.

22 year old Colonial Insurance BVI employee Nickera Smith was reported missing since Friday January 29, 2016.

Police Information Officer Diane Drayton confirmed our report on February 1, 2016 that one male was held and subsequently released in connection to the missing female.

We will provide further updates on this shocking discovery as more information becomes available.

Well, knowing the way things are described here, I wonder if it is a skull or a head. There is a huge difference. Head would indicate recent. Skull would indicate old. Police please clarify.

At Jah you got brain, the first thing came to mind, the case is still open and his closest next of kin don't know his whereabouts, STRANGEST THING (where is the rest of the body) the entire body is needed for CLOSURE (can some of us sleep comfortable)? Report has been made how long since he was missing? Isn't something wrong here or with that? More ?'s than answers it seems.

    Oh Lard,
I hope the Police have really good experts. The first thing they need to check the skull for is the scent of lavender oil or Florida water. Both are really strong, and as such, an indication of either will mean only one thing. Next they need to check the top of the skull from the inside to see if their may be an engraved name or date of birth. And thirdly, they need to inspect the jaw for rice grains or husk. Rice is a vessel to the other realm. An indication of all 3 will indicate the work of a great Wizard. Perhaps someone who comes from Endor, or maybe from the little yellow house on main street.

Some days I come across these little gems and share them with my office colleagues for a good hearty laugh. I have to say that some people who have never been lucky to travel or reside in the Caribbean cannot comprehend that there are really people that believe this stuff. Also, you know how they say go watch a soap opera to make you feel good about your life, well thanks to posts like thid we can also read the blogs to make us feel smarter!
