Police arrest Vincy; RTW shock Grenada

GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- Play in the BVICA- Nagico Cup 2019 continued at the Greenland Playfield, on the eastern end of Tortola, on April 21, 2019 with both of the favourites suffering losses.

Grenada CC were handed a 5-wicket loss by Road Town Wholesale (RTW) and Vincy CC were beaten by 20 runs by Police.

Police vs Vincy CC

Police won the toss and decided to bat first but were bowled out for 109 runs in 18. 2 Overs.

Ivan Clark (3 wickets) and Brent DeFreitas (2 wickets) were the main destroyers for Vincy CC.

Jamal Mickle top scored for Police with 30 runs while Kevin Silchand handsomely contributed 29 runs.

What looked like an easy victory for Vincy CC; however, turned out to be a nightmare as they were skittled out for 89 in 14.4 overs.

Silchand returned to capture 3 wickets for 11 runs from his 3.4 Overs.

Feris Pope and Rohan Blake were the highest run getters with 18 each.

Vincy CC have now lost both of their matches so far.

Grenada VS RTW

In the opening match of the day, Grenada were sent to bat by Road Town Wholesale and found the going tough at the crease. They were bowled out for 98 in 13.3 overs.

Turby Xavier was the chief wrecker of the Grenada innings and finished with 4 wickets for 31 runs from 4 Overs. Imran Smith snared 3 wickets for a mere 11 runs from 2.3 Overs.

Opening batsman Rodney Marryshow held strong for his top score of 23 runs as did bottom order batsman Trent Belfon who scored 20 runs for Grenada CC.

Road Town Wholesale, in reply, lost their opening batsmen without any meaningful score on the board but Austin McDowall was up for the challenge as he made an unbeaten 40 to lead Road Town Wholesale to victory. Joel Williams made a valuable 27.

RTW ended on 104 for 5.

Two exciting matches are billed for Sunday April 28, 2019 at the same venue.

Royal Knights will face VG Spartans from 9:00am and Vikings clash with Cavaliers in the feature game at 1:00pm.
