The weekend’s action got underway on Friday July 8, 2016, when the Hawks put themselves one game away from the Women’s Championship with a 9-8 win against That’s Your Problem.

The Hawks had 11 hits, 4 errors and left 9 runners on base, whilst That’s Your Problem had 8 hits, 6 errors and left 7 runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Sheniqua Fahie and the loser was Chevaunne Richardson. Erica Frederick of Hawks went 2-5 with a triple, 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in, Javelyn Frett went 2-3 with a double, a run scored and a run batted in and Jelisa Potter went 3-5 with a triple, 2 runs scored and a run batted in. Claury Scatliffe of That’s Your Problem went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and Darier Malone went 1-4 with a home run, a run scored and 3 runs batted in.

That’s Your Problem fight back

However, on Sunday, That’s Your Problem stayed alive after rushing into a 7-0 lead inside the first two innings and then holding on to claim a 9-7 victory to send the series to game five on Saturday July 16.

That’s Your Problem had 12 hits, 4 errors and left 6 runners on base, the Hawks had 7 hits, 3 errors and left 8 runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Thea Cooke and the loser was Perline Leonard. Akira Phillip of That’s Your Problem went 2-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and a run batted in, Tamara Phillip went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in and Tafara Phillip went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. Perline Leonard of Hawks went 2-3 and Kareema Brown went 1-4 with 2 runs scored and a run batted in.

Hawks lead the series three games to one.

Pirates eying title

In the Men’s Championship, the Pirates first went up 2-1 in the series with a 9-2 win and then on Sunday, in game four, put themselves one win from the title with another win, 12-8.

The Pirates had 13 hits, 2 errors and left 2 runners on base, Power Outage had 7 hits, 2 errors and left 5 runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Allen ‘Woodrow’ Smith and the loser was Dariel Robinson. George Burrows of Pirates went 2-3 with a run batted in, Levron Saurauw went 2-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and a run batted in and Nikos Penn went 3-3 with 3 runs batted in.
