The billboard warned voters that the Territory “will not survive another third National Democratic Party (NDP) term.”
The party, led by Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL) has been called out for its corruption by former Governor John S. Duncan OBE, Former Health and Social Development Minister—who was with them for seven and a half years—Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL), civil society and many others.
Hon Walwyn, who is also a Minister, is now the subject of a police investigation over a small wall he built around the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) in 2015 at a price tag of $1.6M.
Further, the Auditor General (AG), Mrs Sonia M. Webster in an ESHS Wall Report stated that it was over price, laws were broken, persons paid for incomplete works, along with no value for money.
3rd NDP term with Walwyn?
The embattled leader then criticized the AG and leaked the report to the local media before it reached the House of Assembly (HoA), another volition of the Auditor General Act.
Mr Walwyn, who has stated a few years ago that the Virgin Islands (VI) could no longer pass laws to protect locals, was scolded by Governor Augustus J. U. Jaspert for illegally leaking the report and was forced to apologise.
The sponsors of the new Road Town Billboard has been the worse kept secret in the British Overseas Territory of 15 thousand voters.
