Persons injured in accident @ Baughers Bay

BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- At least two persons were rushed to Peebles Hospital this morning June 3, 2017 following an accident in Baughers Bay, on the main island of Tortola.

The cause and details of the accident, which occurred some time before 7:00 AM, are not clear at this time but sources said two vehicles were involved and both were extensively damaged.

One of the vehicles, a car, ended up slamming into the rail of a bridge. The impact of the crash caused the front left wheel to break off at the axle.

The wheel and axle were still stuck to the rail of the bridge when our reporter arrived on the scene.

The extent of the injuries of those taken to hospital is not known at this time.

The accident took place in the vicinity of the ZBVI radio station.

    Watch your speed on that corner. Last dude that bank there on all fly up and pull down a whole high tension wire with his jeep. I know them extra d***** he had wasn't worth it when he saw that antennae come crashing down on his vehicle while he was in it.

    He actually almost slammed into me in this morning. I had to swerve off the road to avoid being hit. Seems like he may have been drunk.

    Biggest road problems here in BVI is drivers speeding, tailgating and overtaking without good sense. Its not a drinking problem.

    These are often attempts to show off, but the results only prove that these drivers are mentally unfit to drive.
