BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI – (Post Time: 12:40pm) Virgin Islands News Online can confirm that owner of Pearla's Bar in Baughers Bay, Pearla Malone passed away this morning May 21, 2015 following a brief illness.

Confirming this news to us was one of the entrepreneur’s daughters, Janet. She, however, could not speak further as she was in no condition to.

This news site understands that the popular businesswoman passed away in her sleep. It is said that she had just returned to the territory after a long ailment.

Speaking to this news site, Virgin Islands Party (VIP) candidate for the Sixth District Elvis ‘Juggy’ Harrigan said that not only has the VIP lost an ardent supporter but also the village of Baughers Bay in the Sixth District has lost a mother, grandmother and one of the most famous chefs in the territory.

“She was like a mother to the district and certainly her establishment was renowned and famous in the territory,” he said.
