ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Radio talk show host Douglas Wheatley believes it is time that the Opposition has access to legal advice so it could be better organised in the House of Assembly.

Wheatley was speaking on his 3D Show aired on Friday June 26, 2015 on ZBVI 780 AM.

"There has been a problem over many years of the Opposition not having access to legal advice," he said.

"I think the time has long since past when we have Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition and they need legal advice and they do not have," he said.

According to some people, Mr Wheatley said, they can get such advice from the Attorney General as he is there to serve the people. But he said the Attorney General is tied up with the Government and assisting the Government in doing what they have to do and they are many issues that crop up that require some legal insight.

"I think that the provision should be made for the Loyal Opposition to have access to legal advice and details of that can be worked out…whether you have a lawyer on retainer," he said.

The Opposition now constitutes Honourable Andrew A. Fahie of the First District and Honourable Julian Fraser RA of the Third District.

I thought that the people of this territory elects 13 persons to form a government ( the administration); I also thought an attorney general was chosen to work on behalf of the government of the BVI...I discover following the defeat of the VIP almost everything in this territory that functioned over the many years has suddenly become a problem and needs to change: there is an attorney general let him do his job:

You are damn right! They all had NDP to lose and now with the landslide they can't catch themselves. It's obeah, buying votes, not enough this, not enough that a whole host of nonsense. None of them want to admit they have a dead @$$ party and spoke nothing with sense during the campaign season. The Opposition don't need no d@mn legal advice, they have both been in the house for going on 20yrs.

D1 single-handedly wrecked the VIP party. He got rid of Dancia, Alvin, Vincent and now Fraser.

The 40 year leader is who wreck VIP...He is a poor manager. He had everybody doing what they want.. The ministers, the lady in immigration, can`t get nothing done, not even for VG...After all these years under his leadership there is no structure, no order, no progression---A good leader would have resigned and recommend a successor---if he wanted Dancia, Fahie, or Frazer, He could have had who he thinks was best for VIP going forward---Just a very bad manager.

Logically thinking do you think the opposition gonna rely on the AG to assist them an AG appointed by the government to carry out mainly the government business. The opposition too wouldn't like for some of their decisions taken to the government before they do. Remember taking your ideaand putting them in a different form. The opposition does need at least 2 senators to work with them on the bench I thought this is part of the governor's and AG's assignment. It is just gonna be the same old a me old

Ralph should have started recruiting a younger looking VIP 16 years ago..If he did, they would not be in this crisis today. Had all these old dead weight who can`t win, or can`t even run again, plus the 2nd district warming the bench for all these years.

The opposition need to ask Ronno. How is our 47 million dollars for health is spent? what`s the income for health care through services?- -and what the expenditure for health? My common sense is telling me, something is wrong, I am trying to figure out why the high, high rates.

The problem with us in these Virgin Islands is that we want everything for nothing. The cost of health care is not cheap anywhere in the world. We all cry for good doctors, but who will pay these doctors the right salary that they nee? We want the best of services and equipment, but the equipment cost plenty and who will pay? We want to be in air conditioned hospital, with elevators that can accommodate many persons at one time, but who will pay for these things? I say those things and asked the questions to educate persons that the cost to run a hospital is expensive. Equipment, utilities, staff, these things cost plenty. So lets us get real and stop questioning the cost we pay for health care and thank God for what we have. We complain too much.

Who needs to go are gone already. The people determine who go and who stay; the people have spoken. Don't blame anyone else for the reasons why those who are gone are gone. The VIP seems fragmented now, and that has nothing to do with NDP. If an election is to be called tomorrow, PEP will be in a better position to challenge the NDP than will be the VIP. Now that the election is passed, the VIP needs to start the rebuilding process so that there be no more excuse about "snap election".
