SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Leader of the Opposition and Representative for the Third District Hon Julian Fraser RA will hold a Public Meeting this evening, Thursday October 20, 2016 at 7:00 P.M.

The Meeting will take place at the Valerie O. Thomas Community Centre in Sea Cows Bay, on the main island of Tortola.

Hon Fraser, who confirmed the meeting to this news site, is expected to discuss a wide variety of topics with his constituency and the public, including the lack of water, unfinished roads, cleaning of ghuts, schools, the National Health Insurance scheme, along with other general current topics.

Since the 2015 snap election, the public has claimed to not to be impressed with the performance of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP). The critics claimed that the Government left the county broke as they raided the Treasury to win the 2015 elections, leaving no money to pay vendors, supplies for schools, and to complete stalled projects.

They have also alleged many conflicts of interest with some Ministers of Government, along with no one looking out for the local residents. Minister for Education and Culture Hon Myron V. Walwyn, an At Large Member, said early this year the VI could no longer protect locals.

Premier Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith, an At Large Member, also claimed that locals are not qualified for many of the jobs given to expats.

Meanwhile, Hon Fraser indicated to this news site that there would be "prominent members" of the Third District as additional speakers at the Public Meeting this evening.

that is stupid. competing within a party? that is why VIP lost to begin with. too many games and EGO. Fraser shot the VIP last time. But he AND Fahie are excellent in trying to hold NDP accountable with questions. Each minister of each district should have a public meeting to gather issues to work on, see how many they have in common and join forces to get NDP out. This small mentality of don't let Fahie know is damaging and empty.
If he wants voter turn-out he should have advertised last week!! at least give people a chance to schedule and to talk amongst themselves. That is how you build coalitions.
