We ain lose battle or war. The winning team is still intact and we will bring it home in the next four years. Claude lose because he turned people off (including me) with his loud mouth and pompus attitude. He needed to save his big mouth for the pulpit and humbleness (as a new comer) for the campagne. St. Thomas won it for Fraser, and as for the ninth, dem other candidates messed it up for Hubert.

Somebody who comes to the district only when its election time and not to look for their own mother who lives in the district. Give me a break. You did your do and we did ours too.

They did their part in helping the NDP to win. Aggravating us the voters with some of their ridiculous comments. Sometimes I am not sure whether they work for the VIP or NDP. But if they work for the VIP they sure need to be fired because all they did was continue to give us a sour taste for the VIP and push us more to the NDP.

how is it possible to have 20 ooo at large ballots when there was only 12 000 registered voters can some one explain isnt one ballot per person ??
    • At large Ballots (08/11/2011, 09:49) Like (0) Dislike (0) Reply
Its not 20,000 at large Ballots. There is only about 11000 plus voters that voted, so its only that many (11000 plus ballots) ballots, but each ballot casts 4 votes, so you have to multiply that 11000 plus by 4. So you get over 33,000 at large votes, not ballots. Those 33,000 votes are spread among the 16 at large candidates. Hope this helps.
    • BEINTIME (08/11/2011, 13:14) Like (0) Dislike (0) Reply
      1. First you determine how many voters voted overall. 2. Multiply this by 4 because each voter is entitled to 4 at-large votes, and this would give you the amount of at-large votes that should have been counted. 3. If some persons did not vote at-large, or only voted for two, minus this from the amount of votes cast on 11/7/11 at-large and you would arrive at the total at-large votes to be accounted for on 11/7/11. 4. Finally, count all the votes the at-large members got on 11/7/11 and this should equal the amount of votes cast for that day. 5. It is called Mental Arithmetic. We used to do it in the 'old schools' in the BVI when we used to write on 'slates.' I don't know if they still do it. 6. It is the basics for understanding simple arithmetic so people don't dig out your eyes. 7. GOD BLESS OUR BELOVED BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS; GOD BLESS THE NEW GOVERNMENT.

VIP lost for a number of reasons! #1. Hon. Hodge said the woman was short and broke carrying a black bag! when he know to himself he wasnt looking out for his people. #2 Hon. Penn did nothing for her district but yet she boldly claims who is better to represent the BVI in the UK!!! LMAO #3 Hon. Fraser made numorous bad decisions and did not listen to his people, behaved like an arrogant, ignorant *** and still want people to vote for him!!!!! #4 one man (Fraser) was making drastic decisions that affected other districts and the district reps allowed this to take place!!!! WELL I HOPE VIP NOW SEE WHO WAS THERE DOWN FALL!!!!!!!! IT IS CALLED TEAM WORK!!! CONGRATS NDP!!!!!!!!!

Sigh. Well, I am glad that the NDP got in but I am not at all happy that they got so many seats. We have just given them all the power they need to do whatever they choose without any checks and balances from opposition members. We have a lame duck opposition which is what we had for the last 4 years and that is NEVER a good thing. They will be free to ram things down our throats just as they did from 2003 to 2007. Once again, the people of the BVI have swung too far to one side and put too much power in one party's hands. I truly hope we don't all live to regret making this move for the third election in a row! I had hoped we had learned to temper our enthusiasm. At least the the people managed to keep Pastor Cline out of the mix and sent the cookie monster packing. THANK YOU JESUS! It's a shame OJ didn't make it this time around, but I am sure that if he sticks with it, he will oust Fraser next time. He came very, very close! I only wish Preston had begun his campaign a lot earlier and thrown a few more hardballs. I hope he runs again in 2015. He is a good man with a lot of very sound ideas. Next time he needs to be more aggressive. One of these days Andrew! Congrats to all the winners! For heaven's sake, do not take your big win as an endorsement to do anything you like. Please LISTEN to the people this time!

ndp better be very careful, listen to the people, STAY HUMBLE, STAY APPROACHABLE, GET THE PRAYER BREAKFASTS BACK INTO PLAY, put GOD FIRST. I too was disappointed with all the seats, i believe that every Government always needs a very strong opposition so that the people will be informed. But my disappointment or anything for that matter will never change God's will, untimately he always has the final say. Lets remember to continue to pray for all our nation's leaders, they will need it.

confucius, you can't have it both ways. You either glad NDP win or youre sorry they get so many seats.

Billy B, with all due respect, you don't know what you are talking about. Of course I can be glad that the NDP got in and of course I can be disappointed they won so many seats! Apparently, you don't get it! We the people have given the NDP an endorsement of nearly 70% of the electorate. With only 4 members in the opposition party, they can do exactly what the VIP did over the past 4 years and the NDP for the 4 years before that. They can ram ANYTHING THEY WANT down our throats and there isn't a darned thing anyone can do about it! They are too strong and have too many votes in the house. Unless their own members oppose a bill, they can do what they want because we put them there to do just that! We swing left then we swing right and then swing left again! There is no middle ground with our people! This NDP or VIP ALL THE WAY thing is a political ploy to give the ruling party ALL the power. There is no point in the opposition even showing up for the meetings because they are basically just bumps on logs. They may as well not exist! It would take 3 members of the NDP to not agree with an initiative and vote with the VIP in order to stop anything from being passed in the house. Have you forgotten BiWater? If the VIP didn't have so many seats in the house, with a lame duck opposition, they MAY have been successful in getting the agreement sidelined BEFORE it was signed! But the VIP just crammed it down our throats despite all the cries. That is exactly the same thing the NDP has done (and no doubt will now continue to do) with the Beef Island Project. In those two cases, BOTH partiescompletely ignored what the majority of the people wanted, simply because they could. AND WE PUT THEM THERE! So we got exactly what we deserved! A government with too much power and no checks and balances. Get it now? ~ If you don't, you soon will. A leopard doesn't change it's spots.

They win the 3rd by a hair and didn't even celebrate you know why? Because after spending MILLIONS on concrete, tar and other goodies at the last minute, promising lands, registering folks from outside the districts with promises etc. They expected to blow out OJ! Imagine if it weren't for their influence with spending etc.? I count OJ's performance as a WIN since he ran a stellar campaign and didn't bribe anybody! At least he knows that 557 district 3 people have faith in him! Fraser? Not too sure! With all the St Thomas and outside district people, he probably don't know how many real district 3 people he has supporting him! LOL! BTW, Bring back our black Lincoln please!!!!! And don't worry, we putting OJ either as Speaker, Cabinet Sec. or something else where he can be of great benefit to this Government and our entire Country! Next time around we going with the 3rd FOR SURE!!!! Or who knows, after all your bad dealings are put on the table you may just be asked to step down so legal proceedings can take place!! Let's see how it will play out!!

They did the same thing in the eight district. Register people who don't know a stone bout East End or Greenland. The young people who live in east end know a lot of them and they were asking way them come from because they know way them live. Never seen so much mortal in may live and the nerve of the representative to be up east end celebrating right after the polls closed. He knew he knew. But like we keep telling everyone what is to be will be. everything has it's place. Just so all them politicians know we coming with someone with no roots here too.
