Novice mariners urged to avoid operating on sea tonight, June 23, 2018
This is due to the occurrence of moderate to rough seas with significant wave heights of 1.5 to 2 metres (5 to 7 feet). The small craft advisory, which is in effect, was released by the Virgin Islands' Department of Disaster Management (DDM) earlier today, June 23, 2018.
A tropical wave is also expected to cause some more unsettled weather across the area. “Thereafter, a surface to low level ridge of high pressure along with dry and dusty air from the Sahara Desert will inhibit shower activity. The dust will also reduce air quality to moderate levels,” the advisory stated.
Skies are forecast to remain partly cloudy with a 30 per cent or a low chance of showers.
