ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Game two of the BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) Summer League Junior Championship game proved conclusive for Fearless as they romped to a 104-91 victory over And One on Friday August 30, 2013.

The victory gave Fearless a 2-0 series win and with it the Championship Trophy and brought to a conclusion the 2013 BVIBF Summer League with Legs winning the senior championship a couple of weeks ago.

Fearless who won game one 113-86 on Wednesday evening romped into a 25-9 lead by the end of the first quarter and by half time led by 22 points.

They were never seriously threatened the rest of the way despite taking the foot off the gas in the fourth quarter especially.

Franklyn Penn Junior, who sat out for most of the first period, cut his finger on making a basket when he did get on court and spent much of the game alternately bossing the plays or nipping of for more attention to his finger, was named as MVP by BVIBF President, Byron Hodge.

“All I can say is thanks to my team and thanks to my coach,” commented Penn Jnr. “We put in a lot of work to win this game, basketball isn’t easy and for all the young ones out there looking to play the game, make sure you do your schoolwork first.”

Fearless practiced hard and showed great determination to lift the championship and as they celebrated with some sparkling apple juice. The smiles on their faces definitely said the effort had been worthwhile.

As for Basketball, next up in a couple of weeks is a Champion of Champions weekend tournament featuring Legs and the various champion teams from the USVI and St Kitts.
