'No Govt grant seen for Save the Seed Energy Centre' – Bishop John I. Cline
It was the Representative of the Third District Hon Julian Fraser RA who had first mooted the suggestion that through some form or programme the Save the Seed Energy Centre should be awarded a grant to assist with the heavy costs it carries on its shoulders.
Persons were reminded of this suggestion of Hon Fraser by Bishop Cline at the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Honourable Julian Fraser Save the Seed Basketball Tournament on Friday August 15, 2014.
“I have not seen any grant coming from Government,” said Bishop Cline as he admonished that someone should lend an ear to Hon Fraser’s suggestion.
"We hope someone will listen to the Hon. Fraser when he said that we should get a grant to help run this facility because it is an expensive facility to run, but I have not seen any cheque as yet so it means that no one has listened," said Bishop Cline.
Bishop Cline insisted that the facility that has come as a great investment to especially the youths of today’s society is very expensive to run especially with the air conditioning that patrons enjoy, light and other amenities that are necessary.
"Our greatest capital I believe is our youth and the investment we make in them. It is the reason why we have gone out as New Life Baptist Church to invest greatly in a facility such as Save The Seed Centre because we believe that not only preaching will save our community and our country," stated the Bishop as he credited the centre to responding to this need.
He said, “It is an expensive facility to run; you feel the air conditioner, you see the lights and everything else, the maintenance but we are delighted to have the facility.”
Despite the fact that there was a significant amount of donations that went into the construction of the centre they are still to facing the counters of Banco Popular to honour their mortgage as they had secured a loan from that bank to complete the facility.
The facility has also responded to the call for private sector entities to provide employment and aid the process of promoting healthy living and good health. It has also been a source of relaxation, recreation and it also sees people of all walks of life and varied background and cultures making a unique blend.

Failure of this business and its extinction would be a positive learning tool for children. Then it could be considered a success.
But no government should be giving any grant to the up keep when said government have facilities of its own and funding for the maintenance is not adequate.
So Mr. Cline should let the 3rd district rep.fund it for him from his personal bank account.
