No charges yet in One Mart robbery – RVIPF

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has not yet brought charges against persons held for allegedly robbing the One Mart Superstore of a quantity of cash on April 18, 2016.

This fact was confirmed to this news site by Information and Press Officer of the RVIPF Diane Drayton yesterday April 26, 2016.

The brazen robbery on One Mart Superstore in Port Purcell was reportedly carried out by four armed men, according to information reaching Virgin Islands News Online.

And, according to the RVIPF on April 19, 2016, five men were assisting Police with their investigations into the robbery. It also noted that a round was discharged by the robbers; however, no one was injured.

“In the incident, four armed men with their faces covered entered the store around 10pm last night and demanded money from the cashiers. After discharging one round in the air, the men then fled with some of the store’s proceeds. No one was injured in the incident,” the press release from the RVIPF had stated.

Police have asked for persons who witnessed the incident or may have information that could lead to the arrests of the persons involved to contact the Criminal Investigation Department via the RVIPF three-digit access number 311 or to the contact the Intelligence Department at 368-9339.

Persons were also invited to call the Miami-based Crimestoppers number 800-8477 and give this information anonymously.

    approx. 6 home invasion robbery between soldier hill and fahie hill and none has been solved .please someone do something ,the police need big improvement academically ,physically and morally.i live in new York where there is millions of people and crimes getting solved . the bandits are aware of the police inability and taking advantage of it.We need more police officer to be criminologist ,better forensic gathering ,follow up on crime scene .police force in my opinion lacks good detective work

    That is why I build a 6 foot black mechanical bear that is controlled by remote in my home. You come to rob my home, I have it programmed to grab you by the throat and keep you there untill the police arrive. You have to do what you have to do to protect yours.

    These band of hardback crumb snatchers that is going around robbing people homes and businesses is going to get their just deserts very soon. Keep thinking that people is stupid. I run a business but I am not going to say what kind of business it is, they come to my business with the nonsense, I got something that is hotter than fire for them. I am going to protect my business and my employees. I work hard for mine and I am not going to allow some dirty, lazy crumb snatcher take it away so easy.
